LHASA PERFECTURE :
Sera
Sera is the second biggest Gelupa Monastery in the north suburb of Lhasa, which was build in 1419 by Tsongapa’s disciple Sakya- Yeshi.
Jokhang
Jokhang is one of the oldest temples in Tibet, situated at the heart of the oldest section of the Lhasa city, which was built in the 7th century by the 3rd king Sontsanganbu.
Barkor
Barkor is the middle pilgrimage circuit around Jokhang temple in Lhasa.
Ganden monastery
Ganden monastery is the first Gelupa monastery 70kms away from Lhasa, which was built in 1409 by Tsongapa himself.
Namtso Lake
Namtso Lake, meaning the Heavenly Lake or the Heavenly Pond lies about 200 kilometers northwest of Lhasa (within Damxung county) with an altitude of more than 4700meters. With a surface area of 1940 square kilometers, 70 km long and 30 km wide, it is the crown jewel of the lakes of Tibet, and the highest large salty water lake in the world.
Reting Monastery
Reting Monastery is the first kadampa monastery in Tibet, built in 1056 by Dromtonpa, the sect’s founder. It was intimately associated with Atisha, the Indian Buddhist teacher who spearheaded the revival of Buddhism in Tibet in the 11th century. Reting is in a striking area of Jang, a region of pristing valleys and high ridges north of Lhasa. The spacious assembly hall has new, impressive murals depicting Tsong Khapa, lamas of the kadampa and Gelugpa sects, and Gelugpa tantric deities.

Drigung Monastery
Drigung Monastery, the largest of the Drigungpa monasteries, is a large complex of chapels and hermitages. Two highly respected incanrnations, one on his late 80s, are in residence. A primary site of worship here is the Drigung Durtor, a burial ground famous all over Tibet.
SHIGATSE PERFECTURE :
Gyantse
Gyantse lies 260kms southwest of Lhasa on the Northern bank of Nyang Chu River. It takes around 8 hours to reach Gyantse crossing the Kamba La Pass (4800m) where the beautiful Yamdrok Tso will be seen and the Karo La Pass (5010m) where the year-around glacier will be seen. Gyantse has been known as a heroic town since Tibetans resisted the Young husband's British Expedition to Tibetan 1904.
Shigatse
Shigatse is the second biggest city in Tibet, 90KMs away from Gyangtse. The famous Tashillunpo monastery in Shigatse was the seat of the Panchan Lama, one of the six important Gelupa monasteries in China, built in 1447 by the first Dalailama.
Sakya Monastery
It is located 160 kilometers west of Shigatse. Being devided into the north part and the south part. The Sakya North Monastery lies on the northern bank of the Trun, founded in 1073 by Kong Chogyal Pho whose family went back to the times of king Trisong Detsen. The south Sakya Monastery was built by the Sakya Panchen. Sakya Zangpo, on the orders of the famous Sakya Patriach, Phagpa. The Sakya Monastery could be seen as the second Dunhuang with its 40000 volumes in the entire monastery. There are also some recently discovered sacred texts written on pattra leaves kept in store on the upper floor.
SHANNAN PREFECTURE :
Samye monastery
Samye monastery is designed on the plan of Odantpuri temple, covering a total of 25000 square meters of land, built in the 8th century by an Indian Buddhist master padhamsambhava.
Yombulakhang
Yombulakhang, the first palace for the first king in Tibetan history, is 15Km away from Tsedang town. The mountain slope palace was originally built in the second century, but the replica was rebuilt in the 1980s

Chamdrok
Chamdrok is one of the oldest temples in Tibet, 4KM away from the Tsedang hotel, built in the 7th century by the king Sontsan Gambu.
